Emma Dadres: voice lesson Teacher in plano, Texas

From as early as I can remember, I have always had a passion for music. When I was 8 years old, my mom gifted me a light-up piano and I was instantly attached!

I loved that music allowed me to be creative and expressive because there are limitless possibilities. This is a really important part of making music that I instill in each of my students. Music is more than just learning notes and performing them correctly, it’s a form of therapy! I work with each of my students to find what excites them about music so I can inspire them to share their gift with the world.

My passion for piano eventually spilled over into multiple instruments as I got older. I have played over 6 different instruments in my life. When I was 12 I joined the high school band where I was directed by Frank Croyta. He inspired my drive for excellence and creativity. He created a culture that was driven by working through the tough stuff to create something beautiful and meaningful together.

My experience with him really influenced my teaching style. When my students are facing challenges in lessons, whether that be in learning a new piece or in preparing for a performance, I reinforce their belief in themselves and let them know that I will always be there to help them through the tough spots. Music is a wonderful reminder that we are not alone in our musical journey. I believe in creating an encouraging environment where my student’s desires and talents can be called out.

I found a real sense of camaraderie in playing music with other people. I was so inspired by this that I joined our school choir at the age of 14. I started taking private voice lessons and was a natural leader in the school choir so I was chosen to lead sectionals. Learning the ins and outs of creating harmonies and being in sync with other people inspired my love for jazz music. My brother was instrumental in introducing me to this music and helped motivate me to chase my dream!

I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree at the University of North Texas in Musical Composition with a minor in Vocal Jazz. Even now, I still have moments of stage fright. I once had to perform a piece I composed for my professor -. I was so nervous! I enlisted the help of one of my vocal jazz friends to perform it with me. It was great to have a friend there to encourage me in that moment. She helped me to acknowledge my feelings and supported me through to success.

This is something that I use to help my students who struggle with performance anxiety. We work through the anxious feelings together. The butterflies will always be there, but it‘s about how you let them work for you in the moment. One important thing that I would share with any student is to enjoy what you are doing - have fun and don’t take it too seriously!

MORE ABOUT voice LESSONS in plano tx.

Many people think a beautiful singing voice comes naturally. While raw talent is great, other factors help determine whether the vocalist stands out from the crowd. Private voice lessons with can help you hone your voice and accentuate your strengths. Whether you’d like to ensure you protect your voice by using proper technique, learn sight singing, develop a unique style, learn your favorite songs, gain an edge for competitions and auditions, or just improve your voice for personal enjoyment, we will tailor your voice lessons to suit your voice, your preferences and your goals.

Students are encouraged to communicate to their instructor songs and styles they would like to learn. The instructor will happily provide repertoire/song suggestions as well, based on the student's unique voice, experience, and goals. The voice lessons incorporate techniques such as abdominal breath support, vocal placement, diction, and stylizing. Certain technical aspects are addressed during warm-up and other elements are incorporated into the student’s song selections. Learning to sing should be a fun and encouraging experience, and with our voice lessons in Allen, we enjoy teaching students to sing what they love most, while focusing on the student’s strengths and what makes them original.
