Jonathan Lichtenwalker : piano lesson Teacher in plano, Texas
My name is Jonathan, and I’ve been teaching piano since 2017—but my journey with music started long before that. What began as a personal passion for the keys quickly grew into something bigger: a desire to help others experience the confidence and joy that music brings.
I earned my bachelor’s degree to deepen my understanding of music, theory, and performance, but some of my most meaningful lessons didn’t just come from textbooks—they came from working one-on-one with students. Since 2017, I’ve had the privilege of teaching beginners discovering their first notes, intermediate players strengthening their foundation, and advanced students refining their artistry.
Over the years, I’ve learned that every student walks into the room with a different story, different goals, and a different way of learning. That’s why I focus on creating lessons that are structured, encouraging, and tailored to each individual. We build strong technique and musical understanding, but we also make it fun—because progress happens best when students feel inspired.
For me, teaching piano isn’t just about reading music or mastering scales. It’s about helping students develop confidence, discipline, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music. Watching a student go from hesitant to expressive at the piano is what keeps me passionate about what I do.

Learning to play the piano can be a fun and rewarding experience for both teacher and student! Our piano instructors focus on what inspires students most, encourage them to ask questions and, as students advance, help them to develop their own styles.
