Connor Veteto: Guitar & Bass lesson Teacher - Allen, Texas

Guitar and Bass Lessons Allen, Texas

My journey into music began over 14 years ago playing acoustic and electric guitar and singing. I’ve sung and played professionally since 2009 for worship bands, with Texas original music and cover bands – The BoomBachs and The Enablers. I love playing modern and classic rock, pop, gospel, hip-hop and funk. Experiencing music is my greatest passion with soccer being a close second!

In studying music, my high school music theory instructor was my greatest influence. He not only inspired me in my struggle to read and write music, he taught me the importance of aural skills and how to use my ear as a tool in learning music. This changed my approach to reading and writing music and the way I teach. He helped me to discover for myself what made learning music fun and memorable.

So now I create fun environments for my students and help them to pinpoint what inspires them to learn music. This makes all the difference because then we can identify personal goals and aspirations and create a plan to work toward success.

Most students experience fear and anxiety when they first start performing – I know I did! At Matt Burk Studios our instructors create a safe and dynamic environment to coach students through their performance nerves. Our goal is to transform those early fears into a deep love for playing and performing. Live performances are a vital key to unlocking passion, excitement and self expression in music.

A performance highlight for me was competing in a national “battle of the bands” music competition in LA to perform for and meet prominent industry figures. It was eye opening to see life on the road with a band, the inner workings of the music industry and how recording studios operate.

I’ve learned never to doubt my ability to learn and grow in music and I pass this on to my students. The key to growth is to explore, experiment and have fun in the process.

Darrion Hall: Guitar lesson Teacher - Allen, Texas

Guitar lessons Allen Tx.

Hey there! My name is Darrion and I'm so thrilled to tell you a bit about myself. Music has always been a huge part of my life, and it all started when I was just a little 3-year-old. I remember hearing the song "Flesh and the Power it Holds" and I was instantly hooked! It helped that my dad was a bassist in a metal band and had a deep love for metal music. Together, my parents introduced me to amazing bands like Pantera, Alice in Chains, and Death.

When I turned 10, I picked up the guitar and it became my true passion. Iron Maiden's music captivated me, and I couldn't help but sing along to their songs. My dad saw my interest and insisted that I learn to play the guitar. At 13, I got my very own guitar, a Jackson Randy Rhodes, and from that point on, my guitar journey really took off.

I started taking private lessons when I turned 15, with an incredible guitar teacher named Todd Visentine. Along the way, I discovered other musical influences like Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ty Tabor (the amazing guitarist from Kings X), and Dimebag Darrell, who had a huge impact on my style.

Speaking of Kings X, they are my all-time favorite band! Their music has truly inspired me. Another major influence on my guitar playing is Chuck Schuldiner, the guitarist for "Death." His talent and creativity shaped my approach to the instrument.

At 13, I attended a Megadeth concert and was blown away by Children of Bodom, particularly their frontman and guitarist, Alexi Laiho. Watching him perform was mesmerizing, and it motivated me to keep pushing my boundaries.

In pursuit of my passion for music, I enrolled at Richland College, where I studied guitar, bass, and piano. I had the privilege of learning from exceptional teachers like Jo Lee, Paul LeBlanc, and James Driscoll. Jo Lee, my jazz teacher, and Paul LeBlanc, my classical teacher, helped me hone my skills and broaden my musical horizons. As for James Driscoll, my bass teacher at Richland, he guided me through the intricacies of music theory and scales.

College life also introduced me to Kings X in a whole new light. Their music resonated with me in ways I never imagined. During my time at Richland, I even dived into piano studies, further expanding my musical repertoire.

Today, I have been playing professionally for quite some time, and it has been an incredible journey. I enjoy playing and teaching a wide range of genres, from hard-hitting rock and metal to soulful jazz and classical music. After college, I had the privilege of teaching rock band classes and giving private lessons at Bending Oaks High School.

So, if you're looking for a passionate musician who can guide you through various musical styles, I'm your guy! Whether you're into metal, rock, jazz, or classical, I'm here to help you explore the wonderful world of music. Let's jam!
