Brandon Keaton: Guitar & Bass lesson Teacher - Frisco, Texas

From the moment I heard Metallica’s classic ‘Fade to Black’ at age 15, I was instantly mesmerized by the song structure. It was just so different and I loved it. This interest launched me into my lifelong passion and pursuit of the guitar and bass. My brother also had a desire to learn the guitar and suggested that we both start taking lessons from a neighbor who had a music degree from UCLA.

My mom took my brother and I to the local music store and told us we could pick out any guitar we wanted. This was a sacrifice for her, but she saw the spark in us and wanted to fan those flames.

It was 80’s rock and roll that began and shaped my early years of learning the guitar. Green Day, Blink 182, Tool, and Mudvayne were just a few of the bands that I loved listening to and trying to emulate.

I was hungry to learn as much as I could as quickly as possible. I also loved to play video games, but my love for music was greater so I began to ween myself off of video games so I could devote more and more time to the guitar. My guitar teacher laid a solid foundation of theory for me which unlocked music and provided a foundation from which to grow for years to come.

My brother and I formed a band in high school and I also joined another band as their bass player. I didn’t know how to play bass at that time but I taught myself. During high school I also built my first recording studio and began self-producing my own band as well as other bands.

The passion for music that began when I was 15 years old has never stopped or waned. I am constantly practicing and learning new things.

I enjoy teaching students of all ages and skill levels across many different genres including rock, metal, pop, blues and jazz among others. Understanding where each of my student’s passions lie is a crucial aspect to my lessons. I focus and tailor each and every lesson to my student’s specific music goals.

I work to make sure that there is something new and fresh to teach every week. Keeping my students inspired, engaged and having fun is key!

Blake Savoia: Guitar & Bass lesson teacher -Frisco, Texas

My love for music began at the tender age of 11 when I stumbled upon the captivating melodies of Mumford and Sons. The mesmerizing strum pattern played on the acoustic guitar resonated deeply within me, sparking a passion that would shape my musical journey.

Eager to dive into the world of folk music, I embarked on my musical quest. At the age of 12, I received my very own acoustic guitar as a Christmas gift. However, there was a catch - my parents insisted that I take private lessons to truly cherish this precious instrument.

Enter Warren McDonald, my mentor and guide. Under his tutelage, I delved into the realms of jazz, blues, and beyond. From the age of 12 to 18, I religiously attended private lessons, honing my skills and expanding my musical repertoire. Warren introduced me to the captivating intricacies of chords, pop songs, and the mesmerizing 12-bar blues progression that unlocked the doors to improvisation.

However, my journey into the world of jazz proved to be a formidable challenge, one that demanded perseverance and dedication. Undeterred, I joined the Jazz Band in high school, immersing myself in its rich harmonies for three unforgettable years. In addition, I enriched my musical prowess by lending my guitar skills to the Pop Show Choir for two years. The exploration of music theory further enhanced my understanding of the vast musical landscape.

Upon graduating from high school, I embarked on a new adventure, joining a band called Cinema for the Blind. Together, we created music that reflected our shared passion and dedication.

Enthusiastically seeking to expand my musical horizons, I pursued further education at Collin College. Here, I joined the prestigious Jazz Combo Band while immersing myself in the nuances of audio engineering and music theory.

But perhaps my greatest joy lies in teaching others. I take immense pleasure in helping aspiring musicians of all ages and skill levels discover their own unique musical paths. Be it folk, pop, jazz, rock, or bluegrass, I am equipped to guide individuals towards their musical goals.

To me, the pursuit of mastering the guitar is noble and holds immense potential. The dedication and effort required are all valuable investments on the journey to achieving greatness. So, if you're ready to embark on this musical odyssey, let's join forces and create something extraordinary together.
