Taylor Haynes – Guitar Instructor

Taylor brings solid musicianship and a strong understanding of theory, as well as nine years of teaching experience to Matt Burk Music Studio. He has studied guitar and music theory both privately and at the college level. Taylor has also played in several local bands (performing both original music and covers), and he has spent time in the studio recording albums.

As a part of his lessons, Taylor teaches students to read the notes on a staff, as well as how to play scales, chords and “riffs” from songs they enjoy. He incorporates songs into his lessons as quickly as possible. Taylor can also help students write their own music and improvise using some of the basic scales and chords as they learn them.

As an instructor, Taylor understands that each student has different musical goals, styles, and learning methods. He incorporates theory into lessons that are tailored specifically to how each student learns, what they want to learn (specific styles and/or songs), and their long-term musical goals. In addition to his exceptional musicianship, Taylor brings to Matt Burk Music Studio an obvious passion for teaching and a genuine, warm, and enthusiastic personality.
