Kenneth Pritchard – Drum/Percussion & Guitar Instructor

Kenneth brings eight years of teaching experience (private guitar and drum lessons) to Matt Burk Music Studio, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Instrumental Performance and Guitar/Percussion Composition) from Columbia College in Chicago. He grew up in Plano, spent a few years in Chicago, and moved back to Dallas in 2008. While in Chicago, Kenneth was a part of various bands that performed everything from electronic music to rock. As a part of those bands and as a part of his studies at Columbia College, he performed in a variety of different settings and has recorded three full albums of original music. 

Kenneth teaches a wide array of skill levels – from beginner to very advanced students. He teaches a variety of styles, as well, including jazz, blues, pop, groove, rock, etc. Kenneth’s approach to teaching is based on the fundamentals of music and each student’s personal musical interests. He exposes students to rudiments and reading immediately, and then quickly transitions them to application with music they enjoy. He encourages his students to participate in both the frequent jam sessions and seasonal recitals to hone their abilities and give them a sense of accomplishment.
