Meet our INCREDIBLE FRISCO MUSIC TEACHERS

+ Miyoko Pettinger, Piano

Hello, everyone! My name is Miyoko, and I'm thrilled to share a little bit about my journey with you.

It all started when I was just a young girl of 5 years old. At that tender age, I began taking piano lessons and fell in love with the instrument instantly. Little did I know that this would mark the beginning of my lifelong affair with music.

Growing up, my parents had a profound appreciation for music education and made sure all their children followed suit. Alongside piano, I also picked up the cello at the age of 7, and together, these two instruments became the soundtrack of my childhood.

+ Joseph Drake, Drums

From the time I received a small red drum set at just 5 years old, music became the heartbeat of my life. Growing up in a household filled with melodies, thanks to my bass-playing Dad, choir-singing Mom, and keyboard-talented sister, I naturally gravitated towards drums. Surrounded by music at home and in church, I found myself incredibly lucky to have such a supportive circle.

One pivotal moment in my teenage years ignited my passion further when I discovered the extraordinary drummer, Vinnie Colaiuta. His unique style captivated me, sparking a deep interest that led to dedicated study. In the vibrant musical scene of Old Town, Maine, I thrived in a jazz band that annually competed at Berklee College of Music, earning us recognition and trophies at various competitions.

+ Brandon Keaton, Guitar & Bass

From the moment I heard Metallica’s classic ‘Fade to Black’ at age 15, I was instantly mesmorized by the song structure. It was just so different and I loved it. This interest launched me into my lifelong passion and pursuit of the guitar and bass. My brother also had a desire to learn the guitar and suggested that we both start taking lessons from a neighbor who had a music degree from UCLA.

My mom took my brother and I to the local music store and told us we could pick out any guitar we wanted. This was a sacrifice for her, but she saw the spark in us and wanted to fan those flames.

+ Hannah Parker, Piano

My name is Hannah, and my musical journey kicked off at the age of eight! The magic of piano melodies drew me in, thanks to the inspiration of a friend who had started piano lessons. Guided by the fantastic Jamie Patterson, known for running the largest studio in my hometown, I spent a decade refining my piano skills. Throughout high school, I embraced early morning lessons at the eye-opening time of 6:45 am. No sweat – my passion and dedication shone through as I actively participated in piano rallies and other fun events!

+ Lauren Holt, Voice

Hey fellow music lovers! I'm Lauren, and my journey into the wonderful world of music started at a rockin' age of 5 when I first heard the legendary "Hotel California." Talk about an early introduction to the good stuff!

Fast forward to age 5, and my mom gifted me a karaoke machine. Classic rock anthems became my playground, and I belted out tunes like nobody's business. My love for music only grew, leading me to dive into classical voice lessons at my church when I hit 9. Learning the ins and outs of breathing techniques and vocal wizardry became my jam.

Piano

+ Blake Savoia, Gutiar & Bass

My love for music began at the tender age of 11 when I stumbled upon the captivating melodies of Mumford and Sons. The mesmerizing strum pattern played on the acoustic guitar resonated deeply within me, sparking a passion that would shape my musical journey.

Eager to dive into the world of folk music, I embarked on my musical quest. At the age of 12, I received my very own acoustic guitar as a Christmas gift. However, there was a catch - my parents insisted that I take private lessons to truly cherish this precious instrument.
